The funny story behind this comic originates with the CBS Supergirl TV show and the numerous ads I had to watch for it while watching their shows online - in particular, the line Kara gets from her holographic mother about remembering that 'there is no wrong path in life'. Which was something that particularly bugged me and probably helped sour me to the show with the way they seemed to emphasize that particular line so that when I gave the show a try I gave up on it after the first 2 episodes and decided just it wasn't my thing.

Here, of course, Lord Villain is honestly just looking for an excuse to justify a life of being a massive, evil jerk, but the fact remains that the idea of there being 'no wrong path in life' remains to me one of those BS pseudo-philosophical statements that's supposed to sound intelligent and full of wisdom like you know what you're talking about, but when you give it much thought you realize that realistically, it's just a bunch of hokey, mindless nonsense.
